Our goal is to decorate our home for as little money as possible. First, because we don't have much money. Second, because we don't want a lot of debt. Third, because it is fun! Well, I think it sounds like fun...we'll see.
I have been looking for DIY furniture inspiration. Here are a few good examples:
On Nest Egg a wingback goes from something you'd see in granny's parlor to slipcovered fabulousness...
Or as seen on I Suwannee "Holy Wingchair"
For more fabulous photos of Wingbacks visit Braebourn Farm's Blog.
I keep coming back to this Traditional Home living room as seen on The Decorista. The slim touches of gold and the neutral fabrics accented with bold punches of pink really inspire me as we continue the search for a scheme for our living room.
Brooks and I celebrated our 3rd Anniversary yesterday! I can't believe we have been married for three years already. I was even more surprised when he shouted "happy first day of the 4th year" this morning on his way out the door. It is scary how quickly we went from 3 to 4.
We both tried to find fabulous leather gifts for each other, but in the end we decided to "give" each other a new sofa. Once we find a new sofa for the front living room, we can move our comfy mint tinted velvet sofa to the family room. Now begins the sofa search.
This image from Ethan Allen is inspiring me... Something tells me White Upholstery isn't the best idea, but it is so modern looking. Modern isn't normally my style, but I want to steer clear of too many antiques since our house is a little "antique" itself.
Here are a few pictures of the room we are looking to fill with new furniture. It is roughly 9 x 12 so there should be plenty of room to have two sofas in conversation setting like the EA room above.
Pottery Barn, how I love you so... These velvet curtains are perfect for almost any room. My only hesitation - which color to choose! In the fall I was leaning towards "Maple Leaf" and with winter I find that "Ivory" and the two cool colors here are catching my eye. With the exception of custom-made curtains in bold designer prints, these are my favorite drapes ever.
